Synthetic Load Profile
Forecasting Consumption based on Load Profiles
The actual consumption figures are required to determine the consumption demand of the balance
groups and these figures are calculated using load profile metering.
However, for retail customers, the installation of a load profile meter is not economically
feasible due to the considerable technical and organizational expenses. Therefore, these customer
groups are allocated to standardized load profiles. The standardized load profiles are designated
as schedules for suppliers. Once a year, a reading of the meters of retail customers is carried out
and a second clearing is performed 14 month after the first clearing, based on the actuall metered
values.
Every grid operator must send the relevant data from its grid to the balance responsible party and APCS ex post, because these data are needed for the calculation of deviations from the schedules and load profiles for every balance group.
Further information on the individual load profiles are available in the Rules and Regulations in Chapter 6 of the Other Market Rules.- Load Profile 2012 (only in German)
