APCS, in its function as an imbalance settlement responsible party (incl. market operator &
billing agent) in the balance area APG calculates the balancing energy values for the members of
the Austrian electricity market based on the planned volumes of electricity fed into the grid and
received from the grid, and the actual values.
In this function as a central and independent imbalance settlement responsible party, APCS also organizes a competitive balancing energy market. APCS not only guarantees efficient and inexpensive settlement based on the unique know-how of the company, but, above all, neutrality and confidentiality vis-à-vis all involved market participants as well as compliance with security and control mechanisms that ensures the ideal protection of all data used by APCS.
