Balance Responsible Party (BGV)

To register as a balance responsible party, please send us the following documents:

  • Form B duly signed with corporate seal
  • Form C duly signed with corporate seal
  • Form G duly signed with corporate seal
  • Current excerpt from Companies Register
  • Automatic debit order
  • EIC-Code
  • Latest annual reports for past two financial years
  • Projected annual turnover of balance responsible party

After submittal, APCS checks the applications for completeness and formal errors; the registration data are added to a database and a confirmation of receipt and password are sent to the applicant.

The annual reports and the excerpt from the Companies Register are sent to Oesterreichische Kontrollbank Aktiengesellschaft which conducts a credit check and is responsible for the risk management. APCS informs the applicant of the amount of the collateral to be deposited and sends a contract in two counterparts, which are to be returned duly signed with corporate seal to APCS. Furthermore, automatic debit orders in favour of APCS must be set up and the required collateral must be deposited.

Proof of compliance with the technical requirements is also required. We conduct data test together with you that have been developed for this purpose.

The applicant must also inform E-Control GmbH and the system operator APG of the plans to gain admission as balance responsible party, as certain requirements need to be met also with these bodies.

Once all registration requirements are met, the balance responsible  party receives a “ Green Card” and a counterpart of the contract duly signed by APCS.

This contract must be presented to E-Control GmbH, which issues the permit to take part in the Austrian electricity market.

After receipt of a positive official notice from E-Control GmbH, the applicant may take part as balance responsible party in the grid of the balance area APG.

The start is on the first day of the next month.
